WAR ROOM

Today's society seems to be overrun with bad news. Tragedy here. Sadness over there. This problem, that problem. And look... another injustice across the pond. And an offense right here in town. Our culture seems to be unable halt or at least hinder the constant bereavement and berating of situations and circumstances and the people affected, whether they be the instigator or the responder.
Where does one start? By fixing the roof. Nothing will lead to burnout faster than trying to control, fix and prevent matters that are beyond one's control. That not to say, we don't push ourselves to accomplish more, influence more and affect more change for many more than those in our immediate circle. But we can create quite the mess in our own lives, relationships, ministries and circles by not tending to the things that need attention, that do actually happen to be within our control to correct and solve. The incredible aspect of it all, is the empowerment that comes as a result of having taken care of what was in front of you. There's a strengthening and a quickening to step out and help and influence elsewhere, knowing that you are moving and operating from a healthy state of strength and stability. How do I know this is true? How often have you said or heard, "my life is so chaotic; there's no way that I could..." Yeah. Fix your roof already! Pray this #deaconThursday for those in church operations and leadership facing overwhelming situations and circumstances and are unsure where to start. Pray God would help the navigate the decisions and challenges and break down the problem into a workable solution. Pray for strength, that frustration and despair would not lead to burn out, but that they would cast the cares on God and get to work on what they can do, rather than can't do. Pray for a healing work to come about the hearts and lives of humanity; that the advancement of the Good News would overcome to bombardment of tragedy, despair and evil. God help to do what you have called us to. To steward our lives well. To be blessing in a world full of cursing. For the glory of God And the cause of Jesus Christ. - PNC
